Solomons Island is a sleepy waterfront town situated in southern Calvert County, Maryland, where the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay meet. This destination still focuses on the nearby waters and is home to various full service marinas, charter boat operators and the pilot station. Tourism is now beginning to become an important part of Solomons’ economy, and visitors are provided with several restaurants, museums, shops and a lovely boardwalk.
