The large and engaging city of Baltimore is situated in Maryland and is popular with tourists, both domestic and foreign. Don’t miss the city’s number one attraction – the National Aquarium - where rays, sharks and dolphins are not for consumption.

Baltimore doesn’t close after dark. Partiers can shake their stuff at the city’s nightclubs, while for those who want to relax; the city’s many taverns are perfect. Many of Baltimore’s downtown attractions are within easy walking distance of each other, but the city has an impressive train system, taxis and water connections for those that are farther a field, making the city very navigable.

National Aquarium: located in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, the aquarium houses local ocean species but also larger species such as sharks and rays; watch out for the regular dolphin shows.

Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum: documents the years that author Edgar Poe lived in Baltimore yet it doesn’t clear up the mystery of his death which is still regarded as suspicious.

USS Constellation: this was the final all-sail ship to be commissioned by the US Navy in 1855 and it now rests in Baltimore harbor where visitors can climb aboard to learn about its history.

National Great Blacks in Wax Museum: was the first wax museum in America to be dedicated to the great black figures in US history, including Martin Luther King Jr.
