Vinh Long Travel Guide

Vinh Long is a pleasant town in Vietnam bordered by the Co Chien River and a canal, along which you can explore Cai Be floating market by boat. The floating market is the main attraction, as well as a museum and a handful of pagodas and temples.

Boat excursions in Vinh Long are affordable for a traveler’s budget and there are many homestays to stay in to get a feel for authentic Mekong life. Most visitors spend the day in Vinh Long, which is a shame as there is a fair bit to see and do, from the busy market to the town disco.

The twin towers at My Thuan Bridge can be seen from the west bank of the river and the town has many interesting buildings and houses. Vinh Long is full of local charm and friendly people who spend a lot of time relaxing with a coffee and eating traditional banh min (Vietnamese baguette).

Getting There & Away

Vinh Long is home to two bus stations that have regular services running to and from Can Tho, which is home to the nearest international airport. Ho Chi Minh City has infrequent bus services to Vinh Long and there are numerous minivans and public buses going between the city and other Delta towns in the region.
