Hilly and thickly forested, the province is a nice blend of beautiful landscapes, historical landmarks and vibrant daily life. For relaxation, make your way to the second water park in northern Vietnam, at Nui Coc lake, or enjoy a cup of special flavored tea in Tan Cuong area.
Interesting attractions include Phuong Hoang cave, Hang pagoda and the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups. The province is also famous for its role in the revolutionary history of modern Vietnam, in its war against French colonialism.
Accommodation is basic, with mainly national standard hotels. At 62 miles (100kms) from Hanoi, it is on the Hanoi-Quan Trieu railway line and is easily accessed by national highway. Buses and mini-buses ply the route from Hanoi to Thai Nguyen.
