Known as a conservative Muslim state, Terengganu welcomes tourists in a friendly and tolerant manner. The capital of the province, Kuala Terengganu, is a peaceful city with a lively market (Pasar Paying) and the nearby Chini lake.
Access is easy through its small international airport and the city is a good launching point for excursions in the state. Terengganu is mostly famous for the Dungun islands and their beautiful sandy beaches, ideal spots for snorkeling and diving.
