Perlis Travel Guide

This tiny state tucked away in the extreme north of Peninsula Malaysia is one of the country’s smallest. Bordering Thailand, it doesn’t even benefit from the flow of traffic travelling between Hat Yai and Penang, although the rail link does pass through its border town of Padang Besar]].

Mostly Perlis is an undeveloped agricultural province which was previously under Thai control. Apart from attracting shoppers to the duty free shops at the border, the state’s only other magnet for tourists is the port town of Kuala Perlis from where Langkawi bound ferries depart.
