Tam Ky is an unremarkable town situated on the main Highway 1A between Quang Ngai and Danang. The town is very quiet, but it is a good place to take a break from traveling.
Located in central Vietnam, Tam Ky is a good base from where the surrounding area can b explored. With beautiful beaches to the north and south to discover, you will soon be on your way to somewhere with a bit more life.
Probably the most interesting thing to do here is to explore The Cham Towers. The towers date back the 11th century AD and each one is dedicated to a different God. Shiva and Brahma are two of the main gods. You can see the damage the Vietnam War has caused as bullet holes litter the walls.
Getting There & Away
The Reunification Express Train stops here and the station deals with many trains from the surrounding areas and some from further afield. There is a bus station that travels from the north to the south on the major Highway 1A. Danang is only 40 miles to the north of Tam Ky and it is home to the nearest international airport.
