One of the least haunted islands in the Caribbean, St Kitts attracts visitors who are looking for a peaceful getaway. Basseterre is the capital and quite unremarkable except for the characteristic daily market activity and a few colonial buildings left on Circle-Island road.

Old Road Town is a British settlement dating back to 1623 which features some weird petroglyphs that are well-worth seeing. The Caribelle Batik factory is situated at the Wingfield Estate sugar plantation dating from the 17th century and has beautiful creations to offer. Close to Basseterre, the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is home to a fine museum, while the island’s Citadel offers stunning views of Sandy Point Town and St Eustatius. St Kitts’ major resort spot is Frigate Bay, with its adjacent wild and captivating peninsula. Sun-worshippers can relax at Turtle Beach, and there is also a casino for gambling addicts.
