Seria is a small town in the southwest of Brunei with a beach and some great nearby attractions. This is where oil was first discovered in Brunei and continues to be pumped out of the ground.
Although there’s not that much to see in the oil town of Brunei Shell Petroleum, there is plenty of scope for exploration in the surrounding countryside. Seria has a beach nearby, which is floodlit at night and rolled every morning, while the extravagant Jerudong Park is also nearby.
In addition, those interested in the oil industry will find a natty museum in the town, along with a monument depicting the billionth barrel pumped from the field, while nodding donkeys are all around.
Getting There & Away
Seria is about as far away as you can get from Bandar Seri Begawan at about 60 or 70 miles away, yet it is well connected by highway with the capital and buses and shared taxis run here throughout the day. You could also get here by helicopter from Brunei International Airport.
