The largest city and county seat of White County, Searcy is a university town and not known as a tourist destination. Ice cream fans will be happy to know that the town is headquarters for a large regional ice cream producer and distributor. Searcy does not seem to make a large effort to attract significant numbers of tourists.

The god-fearing will feel right at home in this town on the Little Red River, as the large university population all adhere to the Christian faith. There are plenty of wholesome activities to indulge in, including the great outdoors. Swimming, hunting and fishing in the natural areas of White County are popular pastimes with locals and visitors alike.

Healthy entertainment options reach their climax during Searcy’s Holiday of Lights Festival, from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. This annual festival features a lighting parade, stage show and choral performances and an arts and crafts fair.
