Popottan Island is located in Gutob Bay, Palawan and is steeped in natural beauty. Due to its remote location, it does not get overwhelmed by tourists and has not been commercialized at all.
The focus of attention on Popottan is its natural offerings. Beautiful beaches abound, clear waters surround and pristine forests make up the mainland. If you are hoping to stray off the beaten track, it is well worth visiting the island. Divers are in their element here as the naturally calm and clear waters are home to countless marine life species as well as stunning reefs and even the odd shipwreck.
If you would rather keep your feet on dry land and are bored of the beach, the forests are crying out to be explored. They are home to a number of different species of wildlife as well as beautiful tropical plants.
There is no accommodation on the island, which means that people can only visit for the day. However, this is long enough to experience the remoteness and beauty of Popottan. Daytrips can be organized from the larger, populated islands of Busuanga and Culion.
