A lovely, coastal province in central Vietnam, Phu Yen boasts a long coastline with several bays, lagoons, and stunning beaches. Tuy Hoa, the provincial capital, is about 560kms (348 miles) north of Ho Chi Minh City and enjoys a pristine location on the banks of the gorgeous 300-km (186-mile) long Da Rang river.
A plethora of sights are scattered around in the province. Vung Ro is renowned for its lovely offshore islands while Long Thuy beach is an oasis for sun worshippers, with its white sand and clear waters. If you want to go for a boat trip, visit O Loan Lagoon, a short ride from downtown Tuy Hoa.
Phu Yen’s infrastructure is good, with a wide range of hotels and restaurants to accommodate tourists. Various seafood eateries can be found along the coast, with the most popular dish being grilled blood clams. Tuy Hoa has its own domestic airport situated to the south of the Song Da Rang river.
