A big stage with local dance and music performance draws a crowd at the night market and the pajamas sets that everyone wears here make a little more sense if only because it’s dark outside.
Dueling cell phone companies compete for attention over loud speakers. Muff your ears and get past them as quickly as you can to the parameter or the food stalls behind the stage. The wares sold at this market are in much better shape than those at the night market while the dressed up Khmer youth make for good people watching.
Jewelry, silk flowers, silks, and accessories can be had for a good bargain here. If you’re looking for fried insects or spiders on the other hand, you may turn up empty handed. This market is small compared to others around Phnom Penh, so keep that in mind.
