Lamud Island is found in the Calamian Island Group, Northern Palawan. The Calamian Islands are renowned for their natural beauty, friendly locals and abundant wildlife.
Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, Lamud Island sits in calm waters between the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. Between the islands here, visitors will find many protected bays, stunning reefs and a plethora of marine life. Lamud is one of the most popular dive sites in the country, largely because of the fish and coral but also because of the wrecks.
The island itself is still largely undeveloped. There is one large resort found here, offering the only accommodation, and the rest of the island is taken up with pristine forests, oyster farms, beautiful beaches and a handful of caves.
Around the coast lie a number of shipwrecks from WWII which are crying out to be explored. The wreck diving opportunities are gaining an excellent reputation throughout the world, which in turn is increasing the numbers of tourists who visit the area.
Getting There & Away
Lamud Island can be reached from the larger and highly populated islands of Busuanga and Culion by ferry; a journey of 30 minutes. Busuanga is home to the nearest airport which receives daily flights from Manila (1 hour).
