A paradise island in the upper Florida Keys, Key Largo draws all kinds of tourists to its captivating sandy beaches, fascinating underwater world, rich wilderness and rip-roaring outdoor pursuits. The largest of Keys, the island boasts a variety of amenities for travelers, providing the ultimate fun in the sun both for the adventurous lot and beach bunnies. With the famous Everglades just a short boat ride away, Key Largo also makes an ideal destination for nature lovers.

Key Largo is second-to-none when it comes to nature and mystic wilderness of the Everglades. Home to six unique Sanctuary Preservation Areas and remarkable coral reefs, the island welcomes tourists to a whirlwind of natural and historical gems under the sea. Put on your air tanks and dive down to see the remarkable Spiegel Grove and the Statue of Christ of the Abyss; while a daytrip to the Everglades is also worthwhile, especially for those hoping to get close and personal with alligators.

Entertainment-wise, Key Largo can’t really be compared to its outrageous, feisty neighbor of Key West where razzle-dazzle shows and hip-hop pop stars filming their_ ‘bling_’ music videos usually jazz up the island’s atmosphere. The island, however, was graced by the charms of the handsome Humphrey Bogart during the making of the film Key Largo. To glorify the precious moment, the Humphrey Bogart Festival is hosted every November, featuring many films relating to Key Largo. One of the highlights includes a special cook-off program called ‘Here’s Looking at you Squid’. It’s not exactly Hell’s Kitchen but promises finger-licking dishes all the same.
