The largest city in northeast Arkansas, Jonesboro is in a ‘dry county’, meaning that sales of alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Set among the rolling hills of Crowley’s Ridge, there is a large cotton delta to the east and fertile rice land to the southwest. Most visitors come to enjoy the fine outdoors.

Outdoor fans have a paradise at their feet with several national parks near Jonesboro. In the city, Crowley’s Ridge Nature Center offers the chance to experience and explore a unique part of Arkansas and its wildlife. Exhibits display the natural forces that formed the 200-mile-long ridge and plenty of activities and nature education programs are available.

Visitors who want to relax with a drink after a day’s sightseeing can sign up to ‘members only’ restaurants on-the-spot for a nominal fee. Membership will allow the other members of the party to be considered guests of the ‘member’ and they may order drinks as well. There are even a few nightclubs in the area with this policy.
