Hon Mot Island lies just off the coast of Nha Trang in Khanh Hoa Province amid the collection of islands which are found there and is a quiet retreat with a rural village feel.
This region of Nha Trang takes on the appearance of the world famous Ha Long Bay in northern Vietnam, with dozens of granite islands situated just off the coast. Hon Mot is one of those islands; a good spot for snorkeling and escaping from Nha Trang. It has a stunning beach backed by rocky hills and is home to a few fishermen.
There’s not much to do on Hon Mot, however this is part of its charm and it is a convenient daytrip destination from Nha Trang, or from larger Hon Tre to the north. Nearby Hon Tre boasts the Vinpearl Resort & Spa which offers all sorts of activities at its theme park. Visitors can play golf, climb mountains, scuba dive, and even go night fishing.
Getting There & Away
Hon Mot is accessible by boat from Nha Trang pier or from one of the larger islands in the group. Most people get to Nha Trang from Ho Chi Minh City by bus or train (half a day), or by flying from Ho Chi Minh City Airport (the nearest airport at just one hour away). There are also planes, trains and buses from Hanoi in the north.
