Ha Nam province is located near Hanoi, in the Red River delta; it has based its development on agriculture, craftsmanship and industrial zones promotion.

Though not the first tourist destination in the country, Ha Nam province enjoys interesting spots around Phu Ly, the capital of the province, and its other districts. Main attractions include Ngu Dong Son and Cam caves, Long Doi Son pagoda, Truc temple, and the Hoa embroidery village.

The province lies 80 miles (50kms) south from Hanoi and can easily be reached by national highway 1 and the north-south railway line.
