Dimakya Island is a small landmass on the northern coast of Busuanga in northern Palawan. It is largely undeveloped, allowing its natural beauty to shine through.

Most people arrive here to take advantage of the abundant diving opportunities. There are many sites located close to the shore including a natural submerged reef and the water is crystal clear. The island itself is home to a variety of wildlife including deer, boars, monitor lizards and abundant birdlife.

Hiking trails are found all across the island, twisting and turning through untamed forests. It is possible to tackle these trails on your own or hire a local guide who will lead you through the best parts. There are only a couple of resorts on the island so most visitors arrive for a daytrip to take advantage of the outdoor pursuits on offer.

Getting There & Away

Dimakya Island is fairly difficult to reach. Manila houses the closest international airport and has daily flights to the island on a sea prop plane, but this is a costly option. Alternatively flights from, Manila to Busuanga (45 minutes) are available, from where boats got to Dimakya. If your budget doesn’t stretch to flying, you will need to take a ferry and then travel through the mangrove swamps to get to the main beaches.
