Cullion Island is a beautiful place which is yet to be overrun by tourists. It boasts pretty beaches, stunning waterfalls, crystal clear water and a handful of manmade sights.
It is a must-see if you are in the area and the perfect getaway for anyone looking to escape the busy tourist trail. Sights include an old church and fort and an abundance of marine life in the surrounding sea. The island has a rich history dating back centuries and there is much evidence of early civilizations.
Accommodation options are limited as there is only one resort on the island. Most people visit for the day to make the most of the quiet atmosphere and beautiful scenery. If you do decide to stay here, you will not find much evening entertainment, with the exception of local restaurants and bars in the resort. This quiet character, however, is part of the charm.
