Concepcion lies in the middle of Luzon Island above Manila. It is a first class municipality in Tarlac Province and one of its largest cities, yet is unfortunately a bit of a dusty place.

There’s not much to see in Concepcion apart from several Spanish-era churches and colonial buildings, although the banks of the Lucong and Parua rivers do hold a fair amount of appeal. Nearby Bamban and Angeles City are worth a look, as is the dusty backwater Sitio Tabon in Baranggay Santa Monica.

A popular attraction in the region is Mount Arayat National Park, which lies to the south of Concepcion. It comes with some pretty good walking and climbing and has several decent camp spots for lovers of the outdoors.

Getting There & Away

Manila is the gateway to Concepcion and receives flights from the world over. The city is 100kms north of Manila and is accessible along the Pan-Philippine-Mahariika Highway. Buses and trains make the trip, stopping off at Concepcion on the way to Tarlac.
