Situated in the far north of Vietnam, the province of Cao Bang borders the province of Guanxi in China. This relatively poor region is mountainous and heavily forested, comprising just a small amount of inhabitable terrain.

One of Cao Bang’s better known natural features is the 30-meter high Ban Gioc waterfall which is divided into three falls by trees and rocks. Some local tourists head to several places where Uncle Ho (Ho Chi Minh) used to live and work before the 1945 August Revolution.
