Also known as Tha Kradan, Ban Thakradan lies to the north of Kanchanaburi and south of Si Sawat and is a good place to be based for visiting nearby Si Nakharin National Park.
Ban Thakradan is the launch point for Sri Nakharin National Park as well as for boat trips to various attractions in the region. Boats leave Tha Kradan Pier regularly for Huay Mae Khamin Waterfall. Tham Than Lot Cave is also within reach of Ban Thakradan and is a popular Kanchanaburi attraction.
Sri Nakharin National Park is a stunning part of Kanchanaburi Province and Thailand. It features wonderful landscapes and waterfalls as well as the massive Sri Nakharin Dam. The popular Huai Mae Kamin Waterfall is also in the park along with many caves and an abundance of wildlife.
Getting There & Away
You can get to Ban Thakradan by bus from Kanchanaburi, yet this takes the best part of a day. Hiring a car is the best bet to get here, which also allows you to explore the region in comfort. Kanchanaburi is a 3-hour drive from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
