This shady seaside spot is a popular destination with sun seekers. The beach is a little rocky, but it is a good spot for swimming. The area’s main attraction is an enclosed natural pool of clear, refreshing water which wells from an underground spring.
This has been a popular recreation site for locals since the early thirties. The water comes from Lake Batur, in the mountains, and so the temple close to the pool is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Water from this source is sometimes used for Hindu religious ceremonies. The name of the area comes from ‘YEH SANIA’ which means South East.
Light sea breezes, tall trees, and a nice panorama over the expansive Bali Strait make this a truly serene setting. Most visitors tie in a trip to the local temple; however, if it is peaceful place for mediation or relaxation you are looking for, then you need look no further.
There are usually very few visitors, so it is wholly possible to have the beach to yourself for the day. Approximately 500m out to sea, there is a fairly good snorkeling area, with a much better one further out.
