This pretty town is a good place to stop on the route between Hanoi and Dien Bein Phu. Surrounded by picturesque mountains, it is the ideal place to stretch your legs.
Despite its intense natural beauty, there is little to do in Tuan Giao and most people will simply take a short walk and stock up with supplies before climbing back into the bus and continuing down the long and bumpy road. There is a large market place in the center of town, and this is a good place to buy food and perhaps a souvenir or two.
There are a couple of hotels in Tuan Giao and a number of descent restaurants around the town, making overnight stay possible if you simply can’t face getting back on the bus. The town’s restaurants sell a good range of dishes, from traditional Vietnam food to backpacker favorites such as fries and sandwiches.
