Krabi’s Than Bokkharani National Park is an otherworldly part of this fascinating province and a popular side attraction for visitors to Krabi’s beaches. It is especially noted for its spectacular waterfalls and flora.

Than Bokkharani National Park lies between Krabi and Phang Nga in Ao Luk, which is a fair way north of Krabi but easily visited on a tour or under your own steam. It is great for a cool swim and for a picnic - there are several cool pools to have a dip in under the cover of forest canopy.

Expect to see striking karst cliffs, along with the waterfalls and pools. Those who visit just after the wet season towards the end of the year will have a special experience. The main highlight of Than Bokkharani National Park is the stream that flows near the park’s headquarters and splits into several waterfalls and pools. Avoid weekends and Thai school holidays if you dislike crowds.
