Choob is a village that produces some outstanding stone carvings, many of which find their way to new 4 and 5-star hotels being built in Siem Reap.
Many of the village artisans perform their craft and showcase their wares on the side of National Highway 6 between Poipet and Siem Reap. Choob is one of the best places to buy small sandstone carvings that are frequently sold in tourist markets for more than double the price you will pay in Choob.

Getting There
If you are in a taxi (as opposed to a bus) its easy enough to get your driver to stop along National Highway 6 between Siem Reap and Poipet or Batdambang. Just keep your eyes open for the first roadside sandstone workshop and then get your driver to stop at the next.
