Spring Green lies to the west of Madison, southern Wisconsin, and is famously the home of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin and Alex Jordan’s House on the Rock. This mid-sized town nestled on a bend in the Wisconsin River is popular with wine lovers owing to the many vineyards in the area, and also features some excellent art galleries.

The downtown area of Spring Green is pretty laid back with just a handful of shops, restaurants and bars. Although a little lacking on the shopping front, Spring Green does have a wealth of craftspeople producing quality pottery, jewelry, handmade paper, rustic furniture and other decorative arts.

Many tourists like to tour the vineyards of Spring Green or spend time hiking, biking or horseback riding; there are many equestrian trails nearby. Canoe trips on the Wisconsin River are the perfect summer activity, while the nearby Wisconsin Dells and the Caves at Blue Mounds provide alternatives.
