San Fernando, part of Romblon Province, is a coastal town that sits nestled at the foot of a mountain that provides spectacular views of the surrounding area.

There are a few decent accommodation choices in San Fernando and they vary from plush resorts to cheaper huts, and the mountain provides plenty of activities to take part in from climbing, hiking and trekking to gentle walking and exploration.

The Cantingas River is found at the base of the mountain and there are many nice fresh water pools to bathe in to relax. It is the longest and the largest river on the island and attracts many visitors to see the pretty waterfalls and trickling streams.

At the furthest tip of the river there is a nice low scale resort that welcomes travelers year round to swim in the clean water. The lodge is provided by the San Fernando government. Poblacion is only three miles from the town and makes for a pleasant daytrip.

There are a handful of restaurants around, mainly serving local dishes, and a few bars to enjoy a drink which are normally frequented by locals. The beaches in San Fernando are particularly noteworthy and popular at weekends with residents. Magdiwang is only a two-hour drive away and there are some larger hotels and a wider variety of shops there.
