There are a number of charming villages on Pulau Lembata where the same traditions and cultural beliefs have been followed for centuries. Visitors can watch intricate ikat weaving, see fishermen cast their nets and learn about woodcarving and cotton spinning.
Getting There & Away
Most international visitors to this area of Indonesia will fly into Bali’s international airport, which is situated near Denpasar. There are connecting flights from here to the airport on Pulau Alor (1 hour), which is located near Kalabahi port. There are regular ferries from Kalabahi to Pulau Lembata (4 hours).
