Just northwest of Baksei Chamkrong lies Prasat Bei, a small, rarely visited group of brick towers, built by Angkor founder Yasovarman in the 10th century.

While the temples themselves are not particularly interesting, the quiet atmosphere of the temple grounds, which sit beside the moat surrounding Angkor Thom, provides a nice respite from the heat and the crowds.

From Baksei Chamkrong you will find a trail north through the woods to Prasat Bei, where you can enjoy a 5-10 minute stroll along the banks of Angkor Thom’s moat. Along the grassy field which borders the moat there is a lone sandstone door-frame for a now missing tower that once housed the linga that miraculously still stands intact.
