The primary municipality of the province of the same name is best known for being the gateway to the popular Khao Yai National Park. Prachinburi is also a town with plenty in the way of interesting historical and cultural sights.
Aside from tourism, the town’s chief income is drawn predominantly from the rice and sugar industries, but charcoal and hardwoods also represent a proportion of the financial gains. At just 60 miles from Bangkok, the town’s industrial relationship with Thailand’s capital city is significant.
The aforementioned Khao Yai National Park is popular with visitors, as is the similarly scenic Tab Larn National Park. Both parks are ideal for lovers of the great outdoors and anyone wanting an easy escape from the concrete jungle of Bangkok.
