These hot springs are a very Thai attraction, and some foreign visitors may find the place just too kitsch, but it gives a good focus for a fun day out, or even a neat place to overnight in comfort in the middle of nowhere.

The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there’s no entrance fee to the site, but if you want to soak in a mineral bath, where the water is around 60 degrees Centigrade, you’ll need to pay 50B, or 30B to dangle your feet in the communal footbath. There’s a lake here too with ‘water cycles’ - pedal boats in the likeness of Donald Duck and other cartoon characters (20B for half an hour), and several shady pavilions where you can escape the sun.

There’s a small cafe here serving a short menu of meals and drinks, and some attractive rooms and bungalows (small 500B, big 1,200B) if you are tempted to stay the night.

There’s no public transport to the hot springs, so you’ll need to rent a vehicle or contact Three J Guesthouse, which run trips out there (though not every day). Head northeast towards Sukhothai on Highway 101 for about 13km and look for signs to the springs down a left turn. From there it’s another 11 kilometers along a poorly surfaced road.
