The Royal Leisure beach of Hat Chai Samran, located nine miles from Petchaburi market, has made the province a frequented weekend spot for families. A favorite seaside getaway during the time of King Naresuan the Great, the provincial capital has retained something of its resort town status even in modern times. Hat Cha-Am, a little farther from town, is another popular beach area.

No less renowned for its natural wonders, Petchaburi province lays claim to several parks and caves of exceptional beauty. Tham Khao Luang cave is considered a site of great importance within the province. Situated upon the 300-foot high Khao Luang hill, the cave is home to a Buddha image cast under the royal decree of King Chulalongkorn.
