Pha Bong Hot Springs are one of Mae Hong Son’s out-of-town attractions. They are about 11km south of town, just off of the main Mae Hong Son-Khun Yuam highway (Highway 108), and feature both communal and private baths.
The site is just beyond the town of Pha Bong, covers around three acres and is well organized. There are large pools outside that are free to enter, while the private baths have a minimal charge. Outside are various food and drinks vendors.
While Pha Bong Hot Springs is nice for a morning or afternoon visit, it is not an all-day attraction by any means and it is best to have something else organized for the rest of the day. If you are on an all-encompassing loop trip from Chiang Mai, you could stop at the hot springs on your way out of Mae Hong Son, for instance.
You could also combine a trip to the Pha Bong Hot Springs with a look at the town of Pha Bong, or take a roundabout tour of one of the side roads near the springs and loop back to Mae Hong Son.
Getting There
South-bound buses from Mae Hong Son can do a drop-off at Pha Bong Hot Springs, although it is best to get there by own transport or bicycle
