Right on the shore of Lake Superior on the northeastern side of Michigan, Paradise is an appropriately named town that forms the gateway to the idyllic Tahquamenon Falls. With a strong focus on tourism, little Paradise is surrounded by stunning natural scenery. The town therefore attracts large numbers of holidaymakers in the summer en route to fishing, hunting and camping trips within the locality.
Having only been settled in 1925, Paradise is a small town that has developed quickly as a result of the huge number of tourists that visit this area beside Lake Superior every year. It is one of only two gateway towns to the popular Tahquamenon Falls State Park, the second-largest protected area in Michigan, with its main draw, the falls themselves, which drop in stages, the tallest being 15 meters. With its many trails, the park is also an excellent spot for camping in the summer.
Ten miles north of Paradise, Whitefish Point is also a big tourist draw thanks to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum located there along with a lighthouse and wetlands that attract a range of bird species.
