Situated on the northern coast of the island of Batam in Indonesia, Nongsa is a pretty beach resort and town full of charm and surrounded by intense natural beauty.
Batam is well known for its beautiful beaches and aquamarine water, and beach bunnies will have an impressive 19kms of coastline to explore in search of the perfect spot to get a little toasty. Nongsa’s beaches are rather tranquil, making this the perfect place to chill out for a while.
However, Nongsa can be rather quiet, especially in the evening. Those in search of entertainment can always take a short bus ride north to the town of Nagoya for a spot of shopping before heading back to the beach in time to swim and watch the sun slowly sink beneath the horizon.
Getting There & Away
Nongsa is just a 15-minute drive from the international facility known as Hnag Nadim Airport, which is located near the center of Palau Batam. It is possible to catch a bus or taxi from the airport straight into Nonga. There are also ferries to the harbor near Nongsa from a whole host of islands such as Penyengat Island and Lingga Island.
