Nine Dragon Cave resides in a large scenic area in northeast Guizhou Province, not far from the town of Tongren. It is a major attraction in Guizhou and is 17kms east of Tongren City.

Nine Dragon Cave is the star attraction in the area. It sits on the slope of Kwan-yin Hill on the bank of Scolding Dragon Creek (Malong Creek) and features large caverns and rock formations. It is a karst cave averaging 70m in width and 40m in height with a widest point of 100m.

The most appealing structures in Nine Dragon Cave are the massive 30-meter high pillars. There are three main caverns and the third is the most interesting. It has a capacity to hold 10,000 people and features all kinds of animal shapes in the various rock formations.

There’s also many other attractions in the area including the Cold and Heated Wind Caves, the Jing River Valley and reservoir, and Liantai Peak with its accompanying Lotus Temple atop.

Getting There & Away

Tongren is connected to Guiyang (the Guizhou capital 300kms to the northeast) by highways G210, G320 and S201. Tongren Daxing Airport receives flights from Guiyang (30 minutes), where connections to Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau are available. To get to the caves, take a Yangtou-bound bus from Tongren.
