The Nan Riverside Gallery is an interesting and unique art gallery that has an attractive location out of town on the banks of the Nan River.
It is about 20km from the town and features two exhibition halls with temporary and permanent exhibits.
The gallery was set up by one of Thailand’s most renowned artists, Winai Prabripoo, in what was originally his house. He later enlarged it and decided to display some of his works along with those of other Thai contemporary artists.
There are a couple of exhibition buildings at the Nan Riverside Gallery, one of which has paintings and the other photographs. Most of the paintings at the Nan Riverside Gallery are for sale, apart from two by master Thai contemporary artist Somphob Butraraj, entitled Angel 1 and Angel 2.
The décor of the gallery is also of interest and there are all sorts of odds ‘n ends mounted on the walls and ceilings, including a very large basket. Also onsite is a souvenir shop.
