Mu Ko Klang is a tiny island in the province of Satun, southern Thailand. It is only accessible by boat and has few visitors. The people who do venture out to the island can’t stay here, but find that the unique experiences make their daytrip memorable.

Due to its small size and the wish to preserve its untamed natural beauty, development does not exist on Mu Ko Klang. There is no accommodation or establishments such as restaurants, bars and shops; it is the natural charm of the island which attracts people time and time again.

Popular activities include hiking in the jungle interior, relaxing on the golden beaches, snorkeling around the coastline and spotting the native wildlife, which is everywhere. There are schools of tropical fish in the sea, beautiful birds flying in the sky and inland you will find monkeys, turtles, mouse deer, large lizards and more.

Getting There & Away

The only way to reach Mu Ko Klang is by boat from one of the large islands. Those staying on Ko Lipe will find longtail boats available for rent and it is even possible to charter one of these from the smaller islands of Adang and Tarutao. Hat Yai has the nearest airport, from where you can get a selection of domestic flights to major cities throughout Thailand. Flight time from Bangkok to Hat Yai is approximately 1 hour.
