The province occupying the eastern portion of Mindoro Island is as attractive to tourists as its western counterpart, possibly more so because of its stunning beaches and well-developed visitor infrastructure.

Mindoro Oriental’s reputation as a scuba diving mecca is as solid as that of Mindoro Occidental, with some 25 different dive sites offering opportunities to witness a rich array of marine flora and fauna species. A wealth of local businesses dedicated to the pursuit give novices and experts alike the chance to experience this stunning undersea beauty.

Puerta Galera is the focus of most tourist activity in the province and though its official municipal area is only small, the neighboring towns of Sabang and White Beach]] are generally accepted as part of it as far as most visitors are concerned.

From White Beach visitors can access Tamaraw Falls for watery respite from the island’s tropical heat. But the main activity for tourist in Mindoro Oriental is scuba diving and snorkeling to enjoy the vibrant coral gardens.
