The sleepy town of Miagao is located just outside the bustling city of Iloilo in the Philippines, making quite a contrast to its vibrant neighbor.

Although charming in its own way, there is little to entertain in Miagao, and it is best visited on a daytrip from Iloilo. However, there are a few good places to stay in town for those who want to spend a little time here.

Miagao is a good place to try traditional Filipino food, and there are plenty of restaurants here, many of which serve cuisine with a slight Spanish twist. There is also western food available, while fresh seafood is always popular.

Getting There & Away

Miagao is just a 40-minute bus or jeepney ride from Iloilo City, which has its own airport with regular flights from Manila (1 hour) and Cebu (30 minutes). There are also regular buses to Iloilo from cities and towns such as Roxas (3 hours), Caticlan (6 hours) and Kalibo (4 hours).
