Magdiwang is a natural paradise filled with mangroves, coral-filled seas and dense forest and is home to part of Mount Guiting-Guiting.
The municipality is located on Sibuyan Island and the landscape is mainly made up from hills and trees, with the main tourist draw being the mountain and the jungles that are home to rare species of plants and animals that are not found anywhere else in the world.
As well as tourists, scientists flock to Magdiwang in a bid to educate themselves and others on the unusual species and landscape in the area. Climbers enjoy the challenging mountain range that is suitable only for experienced climbers but interested parties can explore the foothills of the peak with ease.
As well as the mountain, the beaches here are fantastic and the water just off the beaches is full of marine life and swimming and snorkeling are popular pastimes. The municipality was first settled in the 17th century and the region has remained unspoiled by tourism.
