The pretty town of Leihitu is located in Maluku Province, which receives a lot of attention from tourists who are looking for stunning natural beauty and somewhere to chill out.
Leihitu’s main attraction is Natsepa Beach, which is one of the most popular beaches in Maluku Province. Considering there are literally hundreds of beaches and islands to explore in this large and lovely province, this really is no mean feat. Although many people may be happy simply sunning themselves on the sand, for those with the need to explore it is possible to hire a boat and row down the coast.
Most people visit Leihitu on a day trip from one of Maluku province’s cities such as Pulau Ambon or Kota Ambon as there isn’t really a lot to do in Leihitu apart from lounging on the beach. However, there is some decent beach front accommodation available for those who do decide to spend the night.
Getting There & Away
The easiest way to reach Leihitu is by flying into the airport at Surabaya, which receives daily flights from Jakarta (2 hours). Leihitu is just a short ferry ride from Surabaya and there are also ferries from towns and cities such as Jakarta, Bitung and Pulau Ambon.
