Kongtong Shan Mountain is famous for its Daoist monastery that sits precariously at the top of the mountain, and the religious shrines that are dotted all over the mountain are the main tourist draw.
The views from the mountain are stunning and the area is perfect for hiking. The mountain has been used as a place of worship for many years and once visitors get to the peak and admire the views, it is no wonder so many flock to see its natural surroundings.
Kongtong Shan is part of a national park so the land around it is all protected. After the views, the next main attractions are the temples and pagodas that are found all over the tree-lined mountain side and are full of religious monuments.
At the foot of the mountain there is a pretty lake and the whole area is lush and green. There are tour guides who will be happy to show you around and the local people are also very friendly and enjoy mingling with the tourists.
