Once almost exclusively accessible from Thailand, the province features spectacular natural attractions, including Koh Kong Island, which offers remote jungle and beaches, and the Cardamom mountain range with its stunning scenery—an ideal place for adventure seekers.

A gateway town to and from Thailand, Krong Koh Kong, the capital of Koh Kong province, is a quiet and small town famous for its casino and Safari World theme park. The town is nothing spectacular but it makes a great base of operations for exploring one of the most beautiful and undeveloped provinces in Cambodia. While there are some nice attractions near the town, many of the best things to see in Koh Kong require a spirit of adventure, plenty of time, and some resourceful planning.

Koh Kong is accessible by land from Thailand as well as from Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh along a now well-sealed road. There is a decent selection of accommodation options in the main town, where day trips, including motorbike excursions, can be arranged to explore the provincial interior, as well as home-stay opportunities in the countryside through a CCBEN eco-tourism project in Chi Phat commune.
