While the sand here is grey and the water shallow and dark green, that doesn’t stop the locals from jumping in with most of their clothes on.
On weekends, Kep Beach is popular with local residents who come in groups to eat and drink at the beachside hammock-shack-restaurants and occasionally cool off in the sea.
Its not Hawaii; its not even nearly as nice as the beaches of Sihanoukville, but its pretty laid back, you can ride your bike along the coast, alternately swimming and dining on cheap, fresh crab in a hammock somewhere peaceful or next to some rowdy, but friendly locals enjoying their day off!
Getting There
Kep Beach can be accessed on foot or bicycle from most Kep guesthouses and hotels, though a motodop taxi can also get you there or away a bit faster.
