Located just 74kms from Hanoi, it is easy to visit Hoa Binh on a daytrip. However, there is plenty to do here and many people end up spending a day or two.
The beautiful Song Da River flows through Hoa Binh and a great way to see the countryside is by taking a boat trip. It is possible to sail up the river for several hours as far as Mai Chau. Trekking and swimming are also popular, while many people simply visit Hoa Binh to relax.
