In Hau Giang province, the Hau and Cai Tu rivers meet with several canals (Quan Lo, Phung Hiep, and Xa No) to form a complicated water network that is favorable for aquaculture, rice and fruits.

The main tourist spot in Hau Giang is Phung Hiep floating market, famous worldwide. This is where you can taste snake liquor and see snakes dance. Other attractions include Long My, renowned for its historical sites linked with the resistance against colonialism and its stork sanctuary.

The province is best reached by road or by water transportation.
