Commonly known as Long Beach, Hat Phra Ae is the largest beach on Koh Lanta Yai, stretching for five kilometers to the north of the island.

Significantly quieter than the neighboring beach of Hat Klong Dao, this is a great place to soak up the sun and swim in the clear blue waters. The beach is surrounded by tropical forest, which is perfect for hiking in, while there are a number of nearby islands to explore by boat.

Many people opt for the quiet life on Hat Phra Ae, simply sticking close to the water and perhaps walking along the shore in the evening. This is a great place to watch the sun set, accompanied by barbecued fresh fish from one of the beachside restaurants and perhaps a beer or two.
